This Week at the LAB
We Create & Effect Miami. Builders are showing up this week.
Hello Innovators,
Summer is here, Miami is hot (literally and figuratively), and I have zero complaints.
Last week I introduced myself so this week we are skipping the formalities and getting straight to the good stuff. The tech calendar this week is actually stacked and I would feel bad not telling you about it.
We Create is an AI build night for women founders, designers, and makers. Show and tell to kick things off, guided challenges for beginners, open floor hacking for everyone else. Tools like Claude, Cursor, Lovable, and more. You do not need to know how to code. You just need to show up.
Effect Miami is the first ever Effect meetup in the city and if you are building with TypeScript you genuinely need to be there. Talks from Ariel Azoulay and Dax Raad, relaxed setting, no pressure. Just people who care about building things properly.
Two events. One week. Miami is not slowing down and neither should you.
See you out there.

Effect Miami is coming to life
Effect Miami is officially happening.
Come learn about the Effect ecosystem in a relaxed, no-pressure setting. Ask questions, meet people who are building with it, and explore everything Effect together.
On the lineup so far:
Ariel Azoulay (Semantiv AI)
Dax Raad (Anoma.ly, Co-Founder at OpenCode)
Are both kicking things off with an intro to Effect Miami

We Create - Women Build Night
Grab your laptop. We're building.
This is not a panel or a networking event. This is a real build night and you are leaving with something.
We kick off with show and tell where volunteers demo what they have been working on and take questions. Then we break into groups by experience level. Beginners get a guided challenge, intermediate builders get matched with people who share similar interests, and if you already know your way around these tools the floor is yours.
You do not need to know how to code. Design, ideate, and build using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Canva, Figma, Lovable, Replit, V0, or Cursor.
Who should come: women builders, founders, designers, and makers who have been meaning to get into AI and just need a room full of people doing the same thing. No experience needed.
Build something, test someone else's project, give honest feedback, make an intro. Every person in the room makes this community stronger.
Snacks will be there. Want to sponsor them? Reach out to the host.

RECAP

Seaworthy Collective brought their 2026 Startup Showcase to The LAB Miami last week and it did not disappoint.
This was their 7th cohort and honestly one of the coolest events we have hosted. A group of BlueTech founders they call "Sea Change Makers" spent the spring being mentored through Seaworthy's program and then took the stage to show what they built. These startups are tackling real ocean impact challenges using ocean data technologies through a partnership with NOAA called The Continuum. Startup pitches, interactive activities, networking, and great energy in the room. If you have never been to a Seaworthy showcase you are missing out.
